View Dates & BookIn the morning we visit Saffron Walden, a quaint little town packed with pretty cottages, a large church (in fact one of the biggest in Essex) and many independent shops nestled against a wealth of historic buildings plus a wonderfully crumbling castle. We are, of course, visiting on Market day.
We will be spending the afternoon exploring the spacious grounds and estate of one of England’s grandest mansions, Audley End.
Admire the interiors of what was once one of the largest and most opulent houses in Jacobean England. Wander around the spacious grounds and admire the glorious gardens designed by Capability Brown, including the beautifully restored parterre and organic kitchen gardens. Take a stroll over to the stable yard and meet the friendly horses before topping up your energy with a delicious treat in the cafe.
